Finding a Teacher
Finding the right teacher for you is another important part of the journey. You may get lucky finding the right teacher immediately. You may go through three, four, five, six teachers. I have had four teachers and while they were all great pluckers, not one of them really worked for me. Buckle up but don’t give up.
Silver Pluckers maintains a local list of good teachers in major metropolitan areas around the United States. The teacher database is an ever-evolving work in progress. We are starting in Marin County California, but if you have a local recommendation for a teacher where you live, please write to us about him/her and we will consider them.

Fabulous site. Many, many videos of fine detail and a structured path. Constant work in progress and good place to start. Justin is a great teacher.
Another excellent starting site. Well organized, with lessons findable by technique or specific aspects of playing you might be looking to work on.
Kehew has published some really good videos. They are quite helpful and interesting. I like the one about three chords, G,C, and D. Check him out. He is very clear and uses video well.
Ukulele Teachers

James is a superb teacher and outstanding musician. His Jimi Hendrix. Do not miss “Voodoo Child.” You won’t believe it. As good as Jake Shimbukuro. No looping.
Another great teacher, great player. One of the best. Well, organized site, good personality. Must check him out.
Buckle your seat belt. Terry rocks out, even in his sleep. Don’t make a decision until you have checked him out. Yowzer.
